Smartphone applications to support students with autism spectrum disorder

This book is a methodological guide put into a professional context, and a collection of good practices. Its primary goal is to help teachers in practice, special education teachers, and parents looking for effective support methods for their children to identify mobile applications that can effectively support the learning process of students with SEN in mainstream learning environment.

Part I presents the conceptual context and addresses some of the issues of supporting specific educational needs through infocommunication tools. Part II presents some of the technologies used in Hungary or internationally to support young people with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual ability disorder. In Part III the development and implementation of the AutiCard application is the main topic. Prior to this, we present the development, testing and application processes of the HANDS mobile application. The book ends with examples of support sequences developed during the research, followed by a collection of references
