I read the reviews before purchasing this film and wasn't sure to buy it due to some negative opinions especially as the previous film wasn't up to the usual standard of what came before but this one proved to better much better than I anticipated! The picture is far too dark so a great deal of the film is almost unviewable. Okay. I keep hoping there will be at least one more...with the daughter, a hybrid, who was revealed in the 5th film. As a super fanboy of the UNDERWORLD series I was seriously worried that BLOOD WARS could be a total mess, but I couldn't have been more wrong, the high standards of the previous 4 films were matched and surpassed from the first minute, it would be helpful to watch them first but not essential as they are often referred to, buy BLOOD WARS NOW you'll not be disappointed Underworld: Blood Wars is the kind of mainstream horror I want to champion, but lackluster technical aspects nullify Kate Beckinsale's kick-ass performance. With her only allies, David and his father Thomas, she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice. Action galore that makes this show stand out as it's always has you involved, sitting on the edge of the seat suspense and nail biting ideas that come around every corner. If you're reading this review, I take it you're actually interested in the fifth installment of an action-horror vampire/werewolf franchise; so, let's make that leap and go a little beyond pointing fingers at the (supposed) lack of 'originality' or 'depth' of the script, right?
