It was interesting to learn about what tools woodworkers have historically viewed as necessary. We can't all expect the have the time to explore various furniture styles - most of us will probably finish fewer projects than we dream of. So it was worth every pricey penny (he is very hard to buy for)! But after reading the oral histories and diaries of craftsmen from the last 300 years, I found it's actually a common trait among artisans.
